LADY GAGA EXPLAINS HER LOLLAPALOOZA CROWD-SURFING...TALKS MORE ABOUT PROP 8 BEING OVERTURNED...PLUS, LADY GAGA: BEHIND THE NUMBERS

Lady Gaga defended her controversial crowd-surfing stunt at Lollapalooza last weekend.

She said: "I was so excited 'cause I haven't crowd-surfed in a long time 'cause no one lets me anymore. It was great. I love Semi Precious so much and they're my band. I don't know what came over me. I just got so excited and I remember playing that stage and what it felt like and they were doing such a great job. I just jumped."

Gaga also talked some more about her happiness over Prop 8 being overturned in California.

She said: "I felt like it was a revolution, a gunshot went off. It was so exciting when it happened. For me, it was a moment that indicates it can happen in every state now."

"I was so happy, and I went right into the studio and I kept writing. My album kind of is done, but I can't stop writing music. I don't know what I'm going to do. I might have to put out two records."

Gaga wrote a song called "Future Love" about the gay community's struggles to achieve the right to legally marry. She didn't spill too many beans about the next album but said she already had a thesis for it.

She said: "I never stop writing, so even when my album's done, I'm always working. When I put this album together, I wanted to write the album in an innovative way. I want the message to be innovative. I already have the sonic ideas and the message ideas. I basically asked friends of mine to produce the record with me, and we're called the banditos."

THE MEL GIBSON DRAMA CONTINUES.... OKSANA CLAIMS HE BROKE INTO HER HOUSE; KICKED THE DOOR DOWN & PUSHED HER

The day after Oksana Grigorieva walked out on Mel Gibson, the actor drove to her house, kicked open the door and pushed his ex-lover... allegedly.

A source says the Russian singer told police that the actor busted into her home and was yelling and screaming.

He then pushed her and she went and got their daughter.

And then he pushed her when she was holding the baby. He then took off.

10 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT STEVEN SLATER AND HIS JET BLUE EXIT

1. Slater is a self-described “Bag Nazi” and it’s this obsession that sparked Monday’s incident. On the now famous flight from Pittsburgh to New York, Steven and a woman got into a disagreement after he insisted her bag had to be gate-checked before they took off. After landing in New York, the woman was angered her bag wasn’t immediately available and ended up hitting Slater with one of the overhead bins. Lesson learned: don’t mess with your flight attendant.
2. Steven has an understanding momma, Diane Slater. She told the press, “I don’t think he’s going to be in trouble very long. I think he just had a very small meltdown, and I think he deserves to be able to have that meltdown if you saw the egg on his head where he got smacked.” Diane currently resides in Steven’s hometown of Thousand Oaks, California, and has lung cancer.
3. Slater currently resides in Rockaway, Queens New York with his boyfriend. Steven was able to get home from his airplane escape before police could arrest him, which makes me slightly worried about airport security.
4. Though Steven is currently living with a man, he was married to a woman throughout the ‘90s. Cynthia Neithamer was surprised to hear about her ex-husband’s actions. She said, “He has been a fantastic and devoted flight attendant. I’m just really surprised because he really loves his job.”
5. The 38-year-old flight attendant has been working in the aviation business for over 20 years and it is one of his biggest passions. When he is not up in the sky, Slater says he is usually doing housework, dining, or going to gym because of all the dining.
6. Music-wise, Steven’s interests lie in “cheesy disco trash and sappy big hair metal ballads” as well as classical, jazz, new age, and lounge.
7. Steven’s emergency exit escapades having already inspired several Facebook groups in support of the flight attendant. They are also trying to raise money for his defense. The biggest group so far has over 100,000 members already.
8. There are even more creative approaches to trying to help the new working hero. They include: auctioning portraits of Slater on eBay, a legal defense fund started by a pilot, and creating interest in a film about the incident.
9. It’s a good thing that people are raising money for Slater because his stunt could end up costing him. The price for using an emergency chute can run up to $25,000, and Steven could also end up serving seven years in jail if he is found guilty for all the charges against him, which include criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and trespassing.
10. Steven is obviously a beer man. His brew of choice is said to be Bud Light. I bet he wished he had grabbed some pretzels too.

SEACREST HAS PLAYED MEET THE PARENTS... DID NOT FAIL A LIE-DETECTOR, LOSE THE FAMILY CAT, OR BURN DOWN THE HOUGH HOUSE

In Touch Weekly reports that Ryan Seacrest has met Julianne Hough's parents.

They flew to Nashville to attend her sister Katherine's 27th birthday and her family loves Ryan.

Apparently the metrosexual Ryan is a Romeo. He paid for Julianne's hotel suite to be covered in orchids, pansies and roses.

"There were rose petals in the Jacuzzi, bouquets all over the floor, flowers on the coffee table, and petals all over her bed. The gesture was beautiful and made Julianne's heart melt."

FANTASIA BARRINO IS OUT OF THE HOSPITAL [2010-08-12 01:00:00]

(Former 'American idol' winner) Fantasia was released from a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina after an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid.

Her manager Brian Dickens said: "She has been lifted up by the outpouring of love and support from her fans. She is more committed than ever to her daughter and her work because they are her heart, her soul and inspiration."

The overdose came after 26 year old Fantasia was named in a lawsuit claiming she was having an affair with a married man. Fantasia denied she was responsible for breaking up the marriage, but admitted having dated the man "off and on for 11 months."

Fantasia said she thought the man and his wife were separated. Now she is "heartbroken and sorry for any pain she caused."

(BTW: Trashy gossip sites claim she was also crushed, because her man broke up with her. This is unconfirmed.)

THE 11 CRAZIEST HEALTH MYTHS [2010-08-12 01:00:00]

1. Do colon detox products work, and are they safe?

Answer: No, and they can be dangerous. "Colon cleansing" procedures are based on the theory that fecal matter and toxins stick to the colon wall. But fecal matter doesn't cling to the colon wall. Experts also haven't found any evidence that toxins build up there either.

2. Is it really bad to use a cell phone in the hospital?

Answer: There's a chance that a cell phone call in the wrong spot can cause ventilators, syringe pumps, or even pacemakers to go weird. But another study found that there wasn't any interference between cell phones and medical machines. In the end, it's up to the hospitals to ban them or not.

3. Can muscle really turn to fat?

Answer: No. Fat and muscle are different tissues, so one can't morph into the other. But sometimes it seems like they do. That's because you start to lose muscle in your 30s, especially if you don't exercise. That can slow metabolism by 3% per decade. The fat usually shows up in the spots where you once had muscle, like the backs of your arms.

4. Does Listerine mouthwash help keep mosquitoes away?

Answer: No. Research has found that people who sprayed Listerine on their arms were just as likely to be bitten as those who didn't use anything. The myth is out there because Listerine has eucalyptol, which is an ingredient found in some bug sprays. But the concentration in mouthwash is too low to do anything.

5. Is it true that liquid eyeliner causes sinus infections?

Answer: This rumor claims that eyeliner drains into the sinuses, gets trapped, and causes an infection, but it's not possible. Our natural tearing process can send bits of makeup into the tear ducts, but they drain into the nose and out the nostrils. If you get eye irritation and sinus problems after wearing eyeliner, it's probably an allergic reaction.

6. Can thong underwear cause infections down there?

Answer: In theory, it's possible , because the thin strip of fabric that forms the back of the thong sits right over the anus and has a direct line to the urinary tract. That could lead to an infection, but it's not likely. What's more likely is that a thong can create tiny cracks in the skin or cause irritation to the very delicate tissues down there. But there's no medical reason to stop wearing it.

7. Can cracking your knuckles cause arthritis?

Answer: Nope. A study compared 74 people 45 and older who had been chronic knuckle crackers for decades with 226 who always left their hands alone. There was no difference in the osteoarthritis between the two groups. But there are reasons to stop . The same study found that knuckle crackers have weaker grip strength and more hand swelling.

8. What about those e-mails about açai pills for weight loss. Is there anything to them?

Answer: No. There's no proof that supplements made with açai help with weight loss or have any other benefits. The berry is very high in antioxidants and it has some heart-healthy fats, but more research is needed before it can claim to fight cancer or lower cholesterol.

9. Do you really have to stop drinking while on antibiotics?

Answer: It's best to keep the bottle shut while you're on antibiotics. You can't predict how your body will react. Alcohol can mess a lot of stuff in your body. With some antibiotics, even a sip of alcohol can lead to, nausea, abdominal cramps, headache, low blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, and shortness of breath.

10. Do lipsticks have lead and cause cancer?

Answer: An study of 10 different lipsticks found very low levels of lead, but it's not dangerous.

11. Are dental fillings that contain mercury dangerous?

Answer: Probably not. These dental fillings have a mix of mercury, silver, tin, and other metals. They release tiny amounts of mercury when they are put in or removed, as well as when a person chews.
