SLUMDOG' DOMINATES THE OSCARS

"Slumdog Millionaire" took the best-picture Academy Award and seven other Oscars, including director for Danny Boyle.

The other top winners: Kate Winslet, best actress for the Holocaust-themed drama "The Reader"; Sean Penn, best actor for the title role of "Milk"; Heath Ledger, supporting actor for "The Dark Knight"; and Penelope Cruz, supporting actress for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."

("Slumdog Millionaire" came in with 10 nominations. Its eight wins included adapted screenplay, cinematography, editing and both music Oscars (score and song).

Jennifer Aniston arrived at The Oscars with her man, John Mayer. And if Brad and Angelina weren't scheduled to be there, she probably would have arrived with her publicist.

Sources say there was NO chance of Brad and Angelina "accidentally" bumping into each other.

Their publicists carefully orchestrated all comings and goings and seating to avoid the remote possibility of such an accident. They were in phone contact all evening.

Sources quote a leak at TMZ.com. And they say the gossip site paid $62,500 to get a police photo of singer Rihanna's facial injuries.

The heartbroken fiancé of "Slumdog Millionaire" starlet Freida Pinto told London's News Of The World about how the film’s success and her “infatuation” with co-star Dev Patel finished their relationship.

Rohan Antao blames the hit movie and her on-screen lover for wrecking his wedding plans.

He said: “She ended it with me after getting close to Dev Patel. Now everywhere I go I see them on billboards. I am devastated.”

Simon Cowell wants to have his body frozen after his death so he can be brought back to life in the future.

He told guests at a private dinner hosted by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown: ‘I have decided to freeze myself when I die. You know, cryonics. You pay a lot of money and you get stuck in a deep freeze once you've been declared dead.

‘Medical science is bound to work out a way of bringing us back to life in the next century or so, and I want to be available when they do. I would be doing the nation an invaluable service.'

MILEY CYRUS SAYS THERE'S NOTHING WEIRD ABOUT HER RELATIONSHIP WITH HER DAD

Miley Cyrus is a little bothered by people who think there's something wrong with the bond between her and her dad, Billy Ray.

She said: "The media has said some stuff about my dad and me being too close and too cuddly for a father and a daughter. For me and my dad it's not weird at all. I love my father and I'm not afraid to show it and we don't let other people tell us what expressions we're supposed to have on our faces when we take a picture together!"

The quote came from Miley's new memoir, "Miles to Go", which will come out next month.

JESSICA ALBA'S WHINING ABOUT THE PRESS RUINING HER (SHOTGUN) WEDDING

Jessica Alba says the media ruined her 2008 wedding to Cash Warren, by reporting on the 'secret' ceremony before she could tell her parents.

The couple got hitched in a low-key ceremony at the Beverly Hills Courthouse in Los Angeles on May 19, just weeks before Alba gave birth to the couple's first child, daughter Honor Marie.

But news of the wedding leaked and her parents found out from a journalist.

Alba tells Elle magazine, "The person who helped us sign the documents told the press that day, so my parents found out from a reporter before we got to tell them. We were planning to take them out to dinner and tell them, but that got ruined.

"(I was) More hurt, probably, than anything. It's not the first time something like that has happened. Journalists feel entitled to do whatever it takes to get a sensational story, no matter how it affects the person involved. We're not really people, right? We're just celebrities."

CHRIS BROWN IS SAYING SORRY WITH EXPENSIVE GIFTS

Rihanna joined some pals Friday to celebrate her 21st birthday. Ex Chris Brown wasn't on the guest list, but an insider tells the NY Daily News:

"Chris called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday. He's absolutely trying to get back into her good graces. He knows he's very much in the doghouse right now, and is doing everything he can to show her how sorry he is."

Chris has sent Ri-Ri a diamond bracelet and necklace, as well as an iPod Touch. Plus, Brown's mom, Joyce, who is said to adore Rihanna, sent over a bouquet of flowers.

And unfortunately, the attention seems to be working. Sources say Rihanna may just reconcile with Brown.

One says, "Rihanna so wanted Chris with her on her big day, but obviously realizes why they can't be together right now. But it's becoming more and more clear that she can't be without him."

For the time being, the singer's friends are helping keep her busy, and away from her allegedly abusive ex.

After Friday's gathering, Rihanna hopped into a waiting car and jetted off to her native Barbados, where she finished out her birthday weekend with her mom.

BRITNEY SPEARS HIRES A TV MAGICIAN FOR HER "CIRCUS" TOUR

Britney Spears has reportedly recruited a magician for her upcoming world tour.

She is hoping that TV illusionist Ed Alonzo will add some flair to "The Circus Starring Britney Spears" tour.

Alonzo said that while Britney is singing and dancing, he'll be doing illusions at the same time. Alonzo has appeared on "Saved By The Bell" and "America's Next Top Model".

Britney kicks off her tour on March 3rd in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Chris Brown's life just got a whole lot worse because he is now being investigated for attempted murder.

Chris is currently being investigated for felonies including domestic violence, assault resulting in great bodily injury and because of specific allegations made by Rihanna, attempted murder.

According to E! News, prosecutors are worried that making any serious charges stick could be hard because the case has no witnesses other than Rihanna and Chris.

Rihanna told police that while the two were fighting, Chris Brown said to her, "I'm going to kill you," while his hands were around her neck.

Rihanna is also said to have told police that Chris Brown choked her until she lost consciousness.

Hours later, the Los Angeles Police Department launched an internal investigation and asked for the public's help in finding the person who leaked the photo.

A police news release said the photo "has the appearance" of one taken during a domestic violence investigation, and classified its release as a fireable case of "serious misconduct."

An LAPD officer said that the agency had not released images of the woman who accused Chris Brown, and would not release evidence photos. A spokeswoman for the district attorney said all evidence related to the case is still with police.

The new issue of People Magazine hits newsstands today and in it, members of Rihanna's family in Barbados talk about how they thought Chris Brown flew so far under everyone's radar that they didn't think he was the abusive type.

A relative said: "He was always looking after her needs, making sure she was happy. I don't want her to go back to him. I don't think anyone does."

PRODUCERS OFFER SAG ANOTHER CONTRACT... "LAST, BEST AND FINAL OFFER"

Hollywood producers have given the Screen Actors Guild another contract offer, as both sides look to end a labor dispute that has lasted for months.

The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers says it's proposal is the "last, best and final offer."

Producers say they will give the union 60 days to accept the proposed three-year contract.

The guild has opposed the previous offer, saying it didn't guarantee guild coverage in productions made for the Internet-- and did not offer residual payments on made-for-Internet content that is rerun online.

(SAG is the last holdout among several unions that have agreed to long-term contracts with the studios.)

The watches included one Rolex rose-gold President watch with a diamond dial (retail price at $30,000), one Daytona stainless steel and yellow-gold watch with a black mother-of-pearl dial at $15,000.

The third was a gift. A stainless steel Rolex with black diamond skull in the center. Total worth $8,000.
