SHOWBIZ SPOTLIGHT Everything We Wanted to Know About... Madonna?... and Britney?

Both, Madonna and Britney Spears tell-all books are about to be released. And both are reportedly scandalous.

Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone has collaborated with a British journalist (Wendy Leigh) on an exposé of his sister - and the NY Post reports, it's going to be "brutal."

A source said, "It's extremely graphic and devastating. He wrote it on the sly without telling Madonna. They want to put it out before her lawyers can get a hold of it."

The book, due out next month, has a massive print run of 350,000.

A disappointed Madonna pal said, "We'd heard rumors, but didn't realize he'd actually written it. He was there through the crazy years and has many stories to tell, I'm sure. He's seen it all. Oh, my."

Madge's brother is a a gay decorator/chef once described by actor Rupert Everett in Everett's biography as "a solid raft for Madonna in the shark-infested waters". Madonna ditched him after she hooked up with her now husband Guy Ritchie, who Everett said was "uncomfortable around queens."

As for the book on BRITNEY SPEARS, we 're not talking about her mom's book.

An investigative reporter (Ian Halperin) plans to hand over "Stalking Britney: Under Siege with Britney Spears" to publishers next week.

Source say it reveals "details of at least two suicide attempts by the troubled star," as well as allegations by a drug dealer about her substance abuse.
