1. Leafy greens
Greens can be coated in disease-causing germs. There have been 363 separate outbreaks linked to leafy greens. That makes them No. 1 on the top 10 list of the riskiest FDA-regulated foods. Iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, leaf lettuce, butter lettuce, baby leaf lettuce, escarole, endive, spring mix, spinach, cabbage, kale, arugula or chard made up for 24 percent of the outbreaks. Almost 14,000 people got sick.
2. Eggs
Eggs have been linked to 352 outbreaks. Most illnesses from eggs are associated with salmonella. Eggs made over 11,000 people sick from 1990 to 2006. Salmonella lives in the intestinal tracts of animals and birds. It's transmitted to humans when animal feces contaminate a food like eggs.
3. Tuna
Tuna has been responsible for 268 outbreaks and over 2,000 cases of foodborne illness. Fresh fish decay quickly after being caught. If it's stored improperly, it starts to release natural toxins that are dangerous for humans. Symptoms of tuna poisoning can include skin flushing, headaches, abdominal cramps, nausea, diarrhea, palpitations and loss of vision.
4. Oysters
Contaminated oysters have been linked to 132 outbreaks, with over 3,000 cases of illness. Illnesses from oysters happen from two sources: norovirus and vibrio. Oysters can be harvested from waters contaminated with norovirus. When they're served raw or undercooked, those oysters can cause an inflammation of the stomach and small or large intestines. Vibrio can cause fever and chills, septic shock and blistering skin lesions.
5. Potatoes
Potatoes were linked to 108 outbreaks, with almost 4,000 people sick since 1990. Salmonella is the most common illness. The salmonella could get into the potatoes through cross-contamination from raw or cooked ingredients or from raw meat or poultry.
6. Cheese
Cheese has been linked to 83 outbreaks with almost 3,000 cases since 1990. Salmonella is the most common illness. Cheese can get contaminated during production or processing.
7. Ice cream
Ice cream can carry a load of dangerous bacteria. It has been linked to 74 outbreaks involving almost 3,000 illness from things like salmonella and staphylcoccus.
8. Tomatoes
Tomatoes have caused at least 31 outbreaks and gotten over 3,000 people sick since 1990. The most common illness is salmonella. Salmonella can get into tomato plants through the roots or flowers.
9. Sprouts
Sprouts have caused 31 outbreaks involving 2,022 people. Salmonella and E. coli are the biggest illnesses. Elderly, young children and people with weak immune systems shouldn't eat raw sprouts. The biggest source of sprout contamination is the seeds that are used to grow the sprouts. Seeds can get contaminated in the field or during storage.
10. Berries
Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and other berry products have caused 25 outbreaks and gotten over 3,000 people sick since 1990. Symptoms can include severe diarrhea, dehydration and stomach cramps.
(WHATTA DEAL!)... CHARLIE SHEEN: BEAT YOUR WIFE (ALLEGEDLY), SKIP JAIL, GO DIRECTLY TO REHAB... [2010-08-03 01:00:00]

Charlie Sheen's lawyer got him the deal of a lifetime.
The 'Two and a Half Men' star will not be spending any time behind bars -- instead, he'll be spending 30 days in rehab (at Promises rehab center in Malibu, Calif).
Sheen pled guilty in an Aspen, Colo. court yesterday on a misdemeanor assault charge stemming from a Christmas Day 2009 incident with his wife, Brooke Mueller.
He was sentenced to 30 days in rehab, 36 hours of anger management classes, and 30 days of probation. As part of his plea deal with prosecutors, more serious charges -- felony menacing and criminal mischief -- were dropped.
(Sheen was reportedly set to spend 30 days in jail back in June before negotiations broke down.)
He has 30 days to report to Promises; in the meantime, production on season eight of "Two and a Half Men" is set to begin today.
FLASHBACK: Sheen spent some time at an undisclosed rehab in March for "preventative measures."
At that time, he pled not guilty to menacing, criminal mischief and assault charges after an argument with his wife.

He says that Lindsay got back in touch with the important parts of self during the 13 days she spent in jail which he called a miracle.
He adds that he is happy she is in rehab but says her biggest problem is her mother Dina.
MORE JUICY BITS FROM THE ANGELINA BIO [2010-08-03 01:00:00]

Andrew Morton’s unauthorized biography of Angelina Jolie includes some more, juicy tidbits:
* She was almost named Shiloh: That was dad Jon Voight’s choice, and when she named her own daughter that years later, it signified a thaw in their famously frosty relationship.
* Her mom pushed her career…from infanthood: Marcheline Bertrand chose the middle names “Jolie” for her daughter and “Haven” for her son because she assumed they would drop their last name when they went into showbiz. She also went behind Angie’s back to call agents and inform them her daughter was the offspring of Jon Voight.
* She had a live-in boyfriend…: …at age 14.
* She had dramatic thoughts of suicide: One of her ideas was to take a hit out on herself. Fortunately, she took drum lessons instead—and her former teacher says, “I sincerely believe the drums helped save her life”. (MORE ON THIS BELOW.)
* She broke Mick Jagger’s heart: After Angelina danced in a Rolling Stones video, the married (with a fourth child on the way) Jagger left her numerous phone messages (because her ever-engineering mother had given Jagger Angelina's number).

MORE: Angelina Jolie Once Hired Assassin - To Kill Herself!
Biographer Andrew Morton claims that Angelina once hired an assassin -- to murder herself.
"She went through a bit of a depression, suicidal thoughts and on one occasion, she said she hired a hitman and she was going to pay by installments.
Morton also went into detail about Angelina 's admitted 'cutting', in which she would blow off steam by taking a sharp knife to various body parts.
“We’re talking about cutting of the... neck, cutting of the thighs, cutting of the breast, with a knife... And that’s a sense of a release and for most of us, it’s weird but for someone like Angelina, who’s in this psychological trauma, it’s a release.”
(WE TOLD 'YA SO!)... ALI FEDOTOWSKY CHOOSES....ROBERTO, ON 'THE BACHELORETTE' [2010-08-03 01:00:00]

(As we reported here, last month!)...
Ali Fedotowsky "The Bachelorette" gave her final rose to Roberto, a 26-year-old insurance agent (and former minor league baseball player). And she got an engagement ring in return.
Ali let Chris L. go the day before, and told Roberto, "I love you so much. I really do."
Roberto got down on one knee, and replied: "I love you, I want to grow old with you. I want to have a beautiful, beautiful family [with you], I want to share my life with you. Share your life with me. Be my wife," Ali, Fedotowsky - will you marry me?"
She squelaed, "Yes!"
(Before the final dates or the final rose ceremony even took place, Ali took Chris L. aside and let the 33-year-old landscaper from Dennis, Mass., go.)
Despite losing a girl he had hinted he planned to propose to.... (he asked Ali's dad for her hand in marriage earlier in the episode), Chris said Ali impressed him by letting him go so kindly.

KATY PERRY OPENS UP ON HER RELIGIOUS UPBRINGING [2010-08-03 01:00:00]
Katy Perry told Rolling Stone that her Christian parents spoke in tongues when she was growing up.
She said: "Speaking in tongues is as normal to me as 'Pass the salt.' It's a secret, direct prayer language to God. That's their gift."
Katy also explained why she couldn't tell her parents she felt "lucky" have met her fiancé, Russell Brand.
She said: "I wasn't able to say I was lucky because my mother would rather us say that we were blessed, and she also didn't like that lucky sounded like Lucifer. I also wasn't allowed to eat Lucky Charms, but I think that was the sugar. I think my mom lied to me about that one."
NICK JONAS AND JORDAN SPARKS CHAIRING A RONALD REAGAN YOUTH GROUP [2010-08-03 01:00:00]
Nick Jonas and Jordin Sparks weren't even alive when Ronald Reagan was president, but they are still big Reagan fans. Nick and Jordin are leading a committee of 35 young people who have been touched by the 40th president of the US.
The National Youth Leadership Committee of the Ronald Reagan Centennial Celebration was created to commemorate Reagan's 100th birthday on February 6th.
Nick Jonas said: "My father and my family were supporters of Reagan. I'm proud to be a part of this. It's amazing."
Jordin Sparks said: "It has been really cool to tell my friends I'm a part of this. A good many of my friends have positive things to say about him."
The group also includes athletes, entertainers and student leaders who are under 25. The committee members have 18 Olympic medals, 2 platinum records and a Miss USA crown. There are also people on the committee who are sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, professional football players and a student from Illinois' Eureka College, where Reagan was a student in 1932.
THE 15 WORST TYPES OF PEOPLE IN AMERICA [2010-08-03 01:00:00]

The list is by no means an end all, but rather something to start the conversation....
15. Celebrities Outspoken About Political/Religious Beliefs
Look, you're a monkey who gets paid rather handsomely to entertain me. So I'd appreciate if you toned down all the Tea Party, Kabbalah, and Scientology B.S. and stick to performing.
14. Bluetooth Addicts
The only times these should be worn are while driving (since it's a law in some states) and if you are a top-halved paraplegic who can't hold a phone with your foot. Anything else is unacceptable and self-indulgent.
13. Guidos
Clad in nothing but self-tanner, armed with a generous serving of rigatoni a la steroids (as evident by the violent stretch marks), and often heard quoting Pauly Walnuts, Guidos pollute the Tri-State area like dead wildlife pollutes the Gulf. Unmercifully.
12. White Rappers
Eminem, and maybe a handful of others, notwithstanding, most of these idiots aren't worth the two seconds it took to write/read this.
11. People of Reality TV Fame
'Jersey Shore', anyone?
10. People Who Hand Out Flyers
Handing out a flyer is basically saying, "Here, you, throw this away." But even worse people than the flyer pushers are talentless rappers who try to peddle their CDs on the corners of heavily populated streets.
9. Hipsters
Otherwise known as society's dandruff, hipsters take pride in giving off the vibe that they don't care about anything. That makes sense because how else could you possibly explain skinny jeans? You know you have come in contact with a hipster if you are standing next to a frumpy faced try-hard, wearing a chip on his underdeveloped shoulders, trendy glasses without a prescription, and horrific taste in clothes.
8. Feminists
What more could you blood-lusting, joy-swilling broads possibly want from us? In case you have been too caught up in "the cause" to notice, women already have rights, and they have been able to obtain highly regarded jobs and public offices by way of climbing/screwing? every rung on the corporate ladder. Did you ever stop and think that maybe, just maybe, men wouldn't be such jerks/a--holes to you if you took a minute and familiarized yourself with a bar of soap? On behalf of men the world over, take all your negativity, your unkempt twits, and your affinity for hemp accessories elsewhere.
7. Terrorists
It is a well-known fact that the United States, Canada and just about every other nation in the world is and always will be better than that outhouse you call your homeland. We know you're jealous that we get to stare at cleavage in public, have electricity, and eat all the pork we want, but violence towards us isn't the answer. Turning the guns on yourselves or throwing a suicide bomb party with each other... that's the answer.
6. Homeless People Who are Perfectly Sane
Homelessness + Sanity = Laziness exemplified. I understand the economy is still in the tank and desirable employment is scarce, but if you have your wits about you and you can't secure a job washing cars, flipping burgers, or at the very least trafficking drugs, you really aren't trying.

5. Activists/Social Extremists
Not a month passes without seeing some radical moron (See: Al Sharpton) in the news pontificating about something that doesn't even concern him. Always sticking their their nose in someone else's business, crying racism at every chance they get...
4. Virgins
I get the whole "kids should be a virgins when they are eight years old" phenomenon but if you are in your mid-twenties and you're still denying your genitals their God-given right to pursue happiness, then you should probably become the victim of a heinous, and strictly genital-related, accident.
3. Stubborn Racists
The Civil War was 150 years ago.

2. Obese People Who Take Public Transportation
I can generally tolerate, and even pretend to like, most fat people. But, when I get stuck next to some slob on an airplane, whose gut needs a seatbelt extension, and two-thirds of the seat I already occupy, my tolerance for their repulsive excess and excuses about a sluggish thyroid officially runs its course.
1. Child Molesters/Rapists
I don't want to sound like an After-School Special, but if anyone ever feels the need to rape a child, a women, or even a full-grown man (for you husky bitches out there), call a hotline, talk to a trained professional, or check out the last couple pages of Kurt Cobain's biography. I hear it's inspirational.
