SLUMDOG' DOMINATES THE OSCARS

"Slumdog Millionaire" took the best-picture Academy Award and seven other Oscars, including director for Danny Boyle.

The other top winners: Kate Winslet, best actress for the Holocaust-themed drama "The Reader"; Sean Penn, best actor for the title role of "Milk"; Heath Ledger, supporting actor for "The Dark Knight"; and Penelope Cruz, supporting actress for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."

("Slumdog Millionaire" came in with 10 nominations. Its eight wins included adapted screenplay, cinematography, editing and both music Oscars (score and song).

The heartbroken fiancé of "Slumdog Millionaire" starlet Freida Pinto told London's News Of The World about how the film’s success and her “infatuation” with co-star Dev Patel finished their relationship.

Rohan Antao blames the hit movie and her on-screen lover for wrecking his wedding plans.

Miley Cyrus is a little bothered by people who think there's something wrong with the bond between her and her dad, Billy Ray.

JESSICA ALBA'S WHINING ABOUT THE PRESS RUINING HER (SHOTGUN) WEDDING

Jessica Alba says the media ruined her 2008 wedding to Cash Warren, by reporting on the 'secret' ceremony before she could tell her parents.

The couple got hitched in a low-key ceremony at the Beverly Hills Courthouse in Los Angeles on May 19, just weeks before Alba gave birth to the couple's first child, daughter Honor Marie.

But news of the wedding leaked and her parents found out from a journalist.

Alba tells Elle magazine, "The person who helped us sign the documents told the press that day, so my parents found out from a reporter before we got to tell them. We were planning to take them out to dinner and tell them, but that got ruined.

"(I was) More hurt, probably, than anything. It's not the first time something like that has happened. Journalists feel entitled to do whatever it takes to get a sensational story, no matter how it affects the person involved. We're not really people, right? We're just celebrities."

CHRIS BROWN IS SAYING SORRY WITH EXPENSIVE GIFTS

Rihanna joined some pals Friday to celebrate her 21st birthday. Ex Chris Brown wasn't on the guest list, but an insider tells the NY Daily News:

"Chris called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday. He's absolutely trying to get back into her good graces. He knows he's very much in the doghouse right now, and is doing everything he can to show her how sorry he is."

Chris has sent Ri-Ri a diamond bracelet and necklace, as well as an iPod Touch. Plus, Brown's mom, Joyce, who is said to adore Rihanna, sent over a bouquet of flowers.

And unfortunately, the attention seems to be working. Sources say Rihanna may just reconcile with Brown.

One says, "Rihanna so wanted Chris with her on her big day, but obviously realizes why they can't be together right now. But it's becoming more and more clear that she can't be without him."

For the time being, the singer's friends are helping keep her busy, and away from her allegedly abusive ex.

After Friday's gathering, Rihanna hopped into a waiting car and jetted off to her native Barbados, where she finished out her birthday weekend with her mom.

BRITNEY SPEARS HIRES A TV MAGICIAN FOR HER "CIRCUS" TOUR

Britney Spears has reportedly recruited a magician for her upcoming world tour.

She is hoping that TV illusionist Ed Alonzo will add some flair to "The Circus Starring Britney Spears" tour.

Alonzo said that while Britney is singing and dancing, he'll be doing illusions at the same time. Alonzo has appeared on "Saved By The Bell" and "America's Next Top Model".

Britney kicks off her tour on March 3rd in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Chris Brown's life just got a whole lot worse because he is now being investigated for attempted murder.

Chris is currently being investigated for felonies including domestic violence, assault resulting in great bodily injury and because of specific allegations made by Rihanna, attempted murder.

According to E! News, prosecutors are worried that making any serious charges stick could be hard because the case has no witnesses other than Rihanna and Chris.

Rihanna told police that while the two were fighting, Chris Brown said to her, "I'm going to kill you," while his hands were around her neck.

Rihanna is also said to have told police that Chris Brown choked her until she lost consciousness.

Hours later, the Los Angeles Police Department launched an internal investigation and asked for the public's help in finding the person who leaked the photo.

A police news release said the photo "has the appearance" of one taken during a domestic violence investigation, and classified its release as a fireable case of "serious misconduct."

An LAPD officer said that the agency had not released images of the woman who accused Chris Brown, and would not release evidence photos. A spokeswoman for the district attorney said all evidence related to the case is still with police.

The new issue of People Magazine hits newsstands today and in it, members of Rihanna's family in Barbados talk about how they thought Chris Brown flew so far under everyone's radar that they didn't think he was the abusive type.

PRODUCERS OFFER SAG ANOTHER CONTRACT... "LAST, BEST AND FINAL OFFER"

Hollywood producers have given the Screen Actors Guild another contract offer, as both sides look to end a labor dispute that has lasted for months.

The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers says it's proposal is the "last, best and final offer."

Producers say they will give the union 60 days to accept the proposed three-year contract.

The guild has opposed the previous offer, saying it didn't guarantee guild coverage in productions made for the Internet-- and did not offer residual payments on made-for-Internet content that is rerun online.

(SAG is the last holdout among several unions that have agreed to long-term contracts with the studios.)

JOHN MAYER JOINS QUEEN LATIFAH...AND ELMO...FOR "SESAME STREET" PRIMETIME SPECIAL

John Mayer will be hosting a "Sesame Street" primetime special with Queen Latifah.

"Coming Home: Military Families Cope With Change," will feature John pairing up with the Queen and "Sesame Street" character Elmo.

The special will tell stories of military personnel returning home to their families with injuries.

The 30-minute special will air April 1^st on PBS.

KELLY CLARKSON BREAKS A RECORD...THAT BRITNEY SPEARS OWNED

Kelly Clarkson's new single, "My Life Would Suck Without You," will break records today when it makes the largest jump to No. 1 in the Billboard chart's 50-year history.

The song moves to No. 1 from No. 97 after selling 280,000 digital downloads in its first week.

Kelly has set that record once before for her 2002 single "A Moment Like This", which jumped from No. 52 to No. 1 in a single week.

Since then, the largest-leap record has been broken five times, most recently by Britney Spears' "Womanizer," which jumped from No. 96 to No. 1 last year.

Kelly's track is off her new album "All I Ever Wanted", which drops March 17th.

Rihanna is up for three Grammys next week and now, she's been added to the list of performers for the awards show.

The U.K. Daily Mail is apologizing for what it now calls an "inaccurate" article about a relationship between David Duchovny and a tennis coach.

The paper says: "On October 19, an article about actor David Duchovny may have suggested he had an amorous relationship with a tennis coach, Edit Pakay.

"We now accept this is inaccurate and Ms. Pakay and Mr. Duchovny are only friends who used to play tennis occasionally. Their relationship went no further and was not a factor in Mr. and Mrs. Duchovny's separation. We apologize to Ms. Pakay, Mr. Duchovny and to Mr. Duchovny's family."

There was no word whether any money (financial damages) will be handed over, since Duchovy filed a $1 million defamation lawsuit.

(GOSSIP) MADONNA'S NEIGHBORS COMPLAIN ABOUT NOISE FROM HER HOME STUDIO

Neighbors in Madonna's Central Park West building have been complaining about noise from the pop star's new music studio, which she carved out of a seventh-floor apartment she battled to buy.

Madge sued her co-op board at the apartments last year when they tried to block her from purchasing an extra apartment in the building, where she already has a residence on the 12th floor.

She won the fight and nabbed the apartment for $7 million in April 2007, with plans to convert it into an office for Guy Ritchie. Now that their marriage is over, Madonna has turned the space into a music studio.

But with all the practicing she's been doing for her current tour, neighbors have gotten several rude awakenings.

One told the NY Post, "They asked her for a schedule of when she would practice, but she hasn't adhered to it. The music is playing at all hours of the night, and the noise from the drums and the bass blares through the walls."

Madonna plans to meet up with A-Rod again during her tour. Alex Rodriguez was in the audience at Madonna's L.A. show Thursday. Now the NY Daily News reports he's thinking about following her to South America next month when she tours Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

Meantime, Adrienne's spokesman is threatening lawsuits over the stolen pics. He said:

"The photos that have surfaced of Adrienne Bailon were stolen from her laptop over a week ago at an airport in NY and sent to several media outlets. These photos were taken in private. Adrienne will be pursuing legal action against the person or person's sending these private photos out.

LINDSAY LOHAN AND JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE HAD A ONE NIGHT STAND
