GRAMMY RECAP...TAYLOR SWIFT WINS BEST ALBUM...BEYONCE WINS 6

Beyonce made history as she became the most decorated female on a Grammy night after winning six, including song of the year for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)". But it was Taylor Swift who took the top award for album of the year for "Fearless."

Taylor won a total of four awards.

After she won the album of the year award, she said: "Oh wow, thank you so much! I just hope that you know how much this means to me, that we get to take this back to Nashville. Oh my God, our families are freaking out in their living rooms. My dad and my little brother are losing their minds in the living room right now."

Record of the year went Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody".

In 2004, Beyonce won five Grammys with her debut album "Dangerously in Love," a which is something Alicia Keys, Norah Jones and Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse and Alison Krauss have done. But Beyonce is the first to have won 5 or more twice.

Beyonce said: "This has been such an amazing night for me and I'd love to thank the Grammys."

Lady Gaga won two Grammys during the pre-telecast ceremony but she didn't get a chance to show her outfits because she lost the record, song and album of the year awards.

But she made an impression when she kicked off the show with a sequined green leotard with massive shoulders as she sang "Poker Face". Then, she brought out Elton John and they mashed up her song "Speechless" and his classic "Your Song" together.

Zac Brown Band won best new artist.

The Black Eyed Peas won three trophies and so did Jay-Z, who won for best rap solo performance and two awards for "Run This Town" with Rihanna and Kanye West.

Maxwell won his first Grammys for best R&B male vocal for "Pretty Wings" and best R&B album for "BLACKsummers' night."

Mary J. Blige joined Andrea Bocelli for a cover of "Bridge Over Troubled Water."The show also included a 3-D tribute to Michael Jackson featuring a video clip he made of "Earth Song." Usher, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson sang along.

Jackson's young children, Prince and Paris, accepted a lifetime achievement award for their late father.

Prince said: "Through all his songs his message was simple, love. We will continue to spread his message and help the world."
